About
The NovaFacies Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to driving the development and adoption of the NovaFacies Framework (NFF). Our mission is to create a global, open-source FinTech infrastructure that empowers financial institutions, technology providers, and innovators to build cutting-edge financial solutions efficiently and securely. This is a Swedish foundation, founded March 1, 2025, by Carl-Johan Larsson. It operates out of Uddevalla, Sweden.
Why we exist
The FinTech landscape is rapidly evolving, with increasing complexity and fragmentation. Traditional financial institutions and FinTech adopters face challenges in navigating this landscape, including high costs, vendor lock-in, and integration difficulties. The NovaFacies Foundation exists to address these challenges by providing a standardized, open-source framework that promotes interoperability, reduces costs, and fosters innovation.
How we operate
The NovaFacies Foundation operates as a non-profit entity with a clear governance structure. We are led by a Chairman and supported by a team of administrators. A Board of Advisors, comprised of representatives from our partners, guides the development framework.
Our funding comes solely from our chairman and we do not accept external funds in any way.
About the Open Source Framework
The NovaFacies Framework (NFF) is an open-source project that provides a standardized and efficient approach to building financial technology solutions. It includes guidelines with rules and best practices, and implementations with real-world examples. The NFF Guidelines cover areas like standardized APIs, authentication, data exchange formats, and versioning schemes. They also provide guidance on addressing challenges in fintech development, such as security, resilience, compliance, and integration with existing systems. The NFF Implementations demonstrate how to apply the guidelines using modern tools like no-code/low-code platforms and backend-as-a-service providers.
